The University of Czstochowa University of Technology in Poland is the largest and oldest institution of higher education in Czestochowa and all faculties of the university are entitled to award PhD degrees. Currently, more than 300 postgraduate students are offered and three of them also offer PhD qualification.
The university was first established in 1949 as the Faculty of Engineering (Szkoła Inżynierska). In 1955 the name was changed to the current Politechnika Częstochowska. The university employs more than 1,400 employees, including 840 academic teachers, among whom are 165 independent scientific researchers. There are about 12,000 students, studying 90 courses in 19 fields of study, both full-time and part-time.
