Mofradat is a contemporary non-profit association that creates opportunities for thinking, innovation and sharing of ideas between Arab artists and their counterparts from different countries of the world. The financial grants provided by the association support Arab artists (whether they are individuals or collaborative teams) to develop their works, as 10 financial grants are given annually, amounting to $5,000.

2- Destination travel grant

The “ Destinations ” grant was launched by the Cultural Resource Foundation to support artists and cover their travel costs in order to display their work or participate in cultural activities and events throughout the Arab world and the world. Applications are evaluated by three judges who are members of the Foundation’s artistic committee, and the selected artist will receive a grant of $8,000, covering travel, accommodation and visa costs.

  • Submission is available to all Arabs without discrimination.
  • The scholarship is available to both individuals and groups.
  • The scholarship targets cultural actors: independents, members, or employees of cultural initiatives or institutions.

3- Arab Fund for Arts and Culture grants

The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture is an independent, private Arab initiative dedicated to empowering and supporting the contemporary Arab novel. This fund seeks to provide a sustainable financing mechanism for individuals and institutions in the fields of filmmaking, performance, visual arts, literature, research, training and capacity building, while facilitating cultural exchanges throughout the Arab region.

4- The Abdul Mohsin Al-Qattan Foundation Grants

The Abdul Mohsin Qattan Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit development organization working in the fields of culture and education in Palestine, with a special focus on children, teachers and young artists. The Foundation’s Culture and Arts Program supports the activities of young Palestinian and Arab artists in the fields of visual arts, performing arts, and audiovisual arts, including covering the costs of artistic residencies.

5- Abu Dhabi Foundation for Arts and Music

Founded in 2003, ArteEast is a leading New York-based non-profit organization dedicated to engaging a growing global audience of contemporary artists in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Foundation launched the Art Residencies Initiative in 2011, which gave artists from the Middle East and North Africa access to prestigious international residencies programs in the United States of America through the partnerships ArteEast creates with these companies that offer these residencies.

2- Rabbani Travel Foundation Grants

The Lutfia Rabbani Foundation , which was founded in 1979 by Mahmoud Rabbani, a Palestinian refugee who lived and studied in the Netherlands, offers financial grants to Arab and European students and professionals wishing to reside in the Arab world or the Netherlands and experience the education, science and cultural sectors in it. The grants offered by the Foundation aim to enhance mutual understanding between the Netherlands and the Arab world.

Created to support and advance the creative lives of artists, the Pollock Krasner Foundation grant  has, since its inception in 1985, awarded over $65 million to support artists from more than 77 countries. The value of one grant ranges between 5,000 to 30,000 dollars, depending on the circumstances and needs.

  • Financial grants are available to professional artists with financial need.
  • The applicant must have exhibited his work in art venues such as galleries and museums to be eligible to apply for these grants.

2- Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Scholarship

The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships available to outstanding graphic artists. As it is a prestigious institution that has a rich history, with its grantees spanning more than half a century, and the value of each grant it offers is about $11,000.

4- The Michael Kohler Center for Arts and Industry Residency Program

The Michael Kohler Center in America provides artists and craftsmen a place to explore new ideas, processes, and perspectives. Each year, up to 12 artists are selected for a residency in pottery or metalworking at the Kohler factory. No previous experience working with clay or metal is required, but applicants who have a passion for this field and are willing to open up to new ideas and experiences are accepted.

5- Djerassi Artist Residencies Program

Each year, more than 70 artists, writers, musicians, choreographers and filmmakers receive 4-5 weeks of residency at Djerassi ‘s 4,000 square meter farm in the United States. As this accommodation is completely free and the applicant only has to pay his travel costs.

6- Hawaii Volcanoes Park Stays
