Customers generally love interactive materials, especially photos and brief graphics, and these are all essential elements of infographics .

Of course, you should not use all forms of infographics in your project, but rather choose one or two types that are suitable for you, and focus your investment of time, money and human resources on these two types. Types of infographics include :

1-   Statistical Infographic

If you want to visually display one of the statistics of your commercial products or services while providing practical data for the success achieved by your company and supporting customer confidence in those statistics by displaying them visually, statistical infographic is your best choice .

The statistical infographic focuses on the numbers that reflect the quality of your product and its success in the labor market, and the designs, images and charts that you can combine together with those numbers in a distinctive style within the infographic, which helps you transform boring numbers for customers into a beautiful and striking visual material that enhances their confidence in your brand .

2-   Informational Infographic

This type of educational infographic depends on confirming a specific concept or idea, and it is the preferred type if you want to explain or simplify a new concept that you adopt in your company’s products or services, and highlight its general meaning, and how this new concept contributes to solving customer problems and meeting his requests .

An educational infographic is usually divided into several sections within the same brochure, each section with a title or a bold line about a specific concept or idea for your product. Numbering each title will be a good step to facilitate the browsing of the infographic by your customers .

Including a base title for your infographic that includes a number would be a great idea to get customers’ attention. For example, say: “ 5 benefits that the distinguished product (X) provides you with,” and then allocate 5 sections for each benefit. It is also a good idea to change the layout of fonts, colors, or switch directions of shapes, lines, etc. to keep customers’ attention and motivate them to read the details of the infographic to the end .

It is worth noting that this type of infographic may also be used in educational circles by teachers or students to clarify a specific piece of information or as a teaching method that relies on images and graphics as a way of communicating information .

3-   Process Infographic

This type specializes in explaining the steps or stages of using a product or service to solve a specific problem. You can also invest it in simplifying the stages of manufacturing your product for customers, in an attempt to gain customer confidence by emphasizing the quality and mastery of the manufacturing stages .

Through the infographic of the processes, you can explain the way to use your product through specific steps. You can put a picture or a figure in each step that shows the method of work. You can also draw the customer’s attention by changing the design and colors of the fonts at each stage .

The sequence of steps can be vertical or horizontal, and it is preferable to attach arrows after each step to guide the reader to the next step.

4-   Comparison Infographic

One of the most difficult decisions customers often face is choosing from a similar set of products or services. So if you want to make a comparison reviewing the features of your products over other traditional products, or if you offer a variety of similar products and want to explain the basic differences between them to the customer to make it easier for him to choose, the solution is an infographic of comparisons .

The common design for this type of infographic is by dividing the frame into two sections, either vertically or horizontally, and each section houses some type of product or service. It is helpful to customize each option with a different color to show the difference between them .

And if you want to entice the customer to choose your product or service, over the other product that is compared to it, then you can customize your product section with an eye-catching color (usually light colors) such as purple. You can also divide the infographic into several sections if you want to compare more than two types of products or services .

5- List Infographics

If you plan to share with your customers a list of new products or services or a list of examples of practical uses for one of your products or services, why not use a list infographic for that?!

The infographic of the lists is distinguished by its direct content, meaning that the customer or reader does not need to make a comparison or understand the previous elements or steps within the infographic itself, as each enumeration within the list is independent. This type is similar to traditional lists, except that it employs attractive designs, such as striking fonts and distinctive colors, in addition to replacing enumeration or numbering with symbols or icons that reflect the enumeration .

For example, you might design an infographic showing the list of functions provided by your company’s kitchen blender, then you can put the features of that blender and put a symbol indicating the speed of rotation – perhaps a vortex symbol for example – in the enumeration that indicates the high speed of rotation of the blender, and so on…

It is one of the most important design programs in this modern era, as you can use this application to design any shape that can come to your mind, and most of the global infographics are designed in this program.

 One of the sites that I personally use when searching for infographics provides a good set of infographic templates and templates, so that you can use it as a ready-made infographic. .

which was formerly known as Crello. This site also provides several ready-to-use infographic templates, in addition to other designs that you can benefit from.

This site provides infographic templates for Powerpoint software, which you can download to your computer and modify it to suit your needs.

Important tips for creating a unique infographic

Infographics differ from other designs and visual aids used to present information. So, before you start designing your infographic, here are some important tips that will help you create a successful infographic: 

1- Avoid the news story

 The infographic is not a newspaper article, so it is preferable not to use news terms such as “announcing this party,” “describing the other party,” or “counting the number of dead and wounded.” Always keep it short and only write key words and important information.

2- Ask twice and answer once

 Many believe that the infographic text is to provide answers to incomprehensible issues, and this is a mistake. You don’t always have to answer the questions, it may be using them to get the reader to think and get their attention. 

So, we advise you to use the questions as a teaser. Only answer important questions related to your product or service and explain them in the infographic.

3- Take advantage of the element of surprise and shock

This is the best way to get your audience interested. By providing shocking information that provokes and surprises them, and thus urges them to continue reading.

Be sure to include an element of surprise in your infographic, which could take the form of any of the following:

  • Shocking numbers and statistics.
  • Facts and information that many people do not know, and that contradict the prevailing expectations and beliefs.
  • Comparisons and paradoxes between two things (it may be between two products that are far from each other, but there is a strange connection between them).

4- Do not make yourself a lecturer in a seminar

Remember, this is an infographic, not a textbook, so avoid extensive information, and don’t use command prompts, as it is often off-putting.

Instead, adopt simplicity, brevity, and a form of speech that is close to the reader.

5- Use multiple sources to write infographic content

Do not rely on a single source when searching. Gather and compare multiple sources and then prepare your infographic content based on the healthiest and most reliable sources.

6- Stick to simplicity in design

 The goal of the infographic is to clearly communicate the information to the target party. Therefore, the use of a lot of colors, or the addition of many unrelated elements may distract the reader and prevent him from getting the message. Which makes the infographic in this case useless. Use simple designs in appropriate colors that do not distract attention, and make sure the text is consistent and shows important information in a different color and size.

Thus, we find that the infographic is not just a design that includes words and images on a specific topic. It is much more than that, as it is a tool that is prepared and prepared in a systematic way to deliver a specific marketing or explanatory message to a pre-thought-out target group.
