Call for Applications: Raisina Young Fellows Programme

Raisina Young Fellows

The Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) has unveiled an exciting opportunity for emerging global leaders through its participation in the Raisina Young Fellows Programme 2026. Organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), this initiative reflects PCNS’s ongoing mission to nurture leadership and foster international collaboration across regions and disciplines.

A Global Platform for Strategic Dialogue

From March 2 to 11, 2026, selected fellows will participate in an intensive program based in New Delhi, India. This immersive experience is scheduled to coincide with the Raisina Dialogue (March 5–7), India’s foremost conference on geopolitics and geo-economics. Co-hosted by ORF and India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the Raisina Dialogue brings together high-level policymakers, global thinkers, and industry leaders to address the most pressing challenges of the international system.

The Raisina Young Fellows Programme offers a unique platform for exceptional young professionals from various fields—politics, diplomacy, media, civil society, academia, and business. Fellows will engage in high-level policy discussions and in-depth exchanges on key global issues, including:

  • Multilateralism and global governance
  • Technology regulation and digital transformation
  • Sustainable development and climate action
  • Economic resilience and inclusive growth
  • Regional and global security frameworks

Exposure, Engagement, and Leadership Development

Throughout the program, fellows will engage directly with senior policymakers, diplomats, business leaders, and academic experts. These interactions provide not only intellectual enrichment but also invaluable professional connections. Participants will:

  • Take part in curated policy sessions and debates
  • Contribute to strategic dialogues and think tank discussions
  • Gain diverse international perspectives on policy issues
  • Develop cross-cultural leadership and negotiation skills

This engagement fosters critical thinking and equips participants to influence policymaking processes within their respective domains.

A Gateway to a Global Alumni Network

By joining the Raisina Young Fellows Programme, participants become part of a distinguished global alumni network of over 2,000 individuals. This vibrant community includes ministers, CEOs, diplomats, scholars, and innovators who have previously taken part in ORF’s international leadership initiatives. Alumni benefit from:

  • Continued access to international forums and events
  • Mentorship and peer-learning opportunities
  • Professional collaborations across regions
  • Lifelong ties with a network of influential global leaders

Strategic Collaboration Across Continents

This opportunity is made possible through a strategic partnership between PCNS, ORF, and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI). Each institution nominates outstanding candidates for participation in one another’s programs. This trilateral structure enhances cross-regional understanding and promotes meaningful dialogue between Africa, Asia, and Europe.

The program emphasizes collaborative policymaking and knowledge exchange as tools to address the interconnected challenges of the 21st century. Fellows will leave with a broadened worldview and a deeper appreciation for the role of diplomacy and cooperation in shaping global solutions.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Aged between 28 and 35 years
  • Demonstrated professional achievements and leadership potential
  • A commitment to contributing to international policy discourse
  • Background in diplomacy, politics, business, media, civil society, or academia
  • Strong command of English

Ideal candidates are individuals who exemplify excellence, vision, and a drive to enact positive change within their fields and communities.

Fully Funded Fellowship Benefits

Selected participants will receive comprehensive support for the duration of the program, including:

  • Roundtrip economy airfare to New Delhi, India
  • Accommodation, meals, and in-country transportation
  • Access to all Raisina Dialogue and fellowship activities

This ensures that fellows can focus entirely on engaging with the content, speakers, and their peers in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Transformative Experience and Lasting Impact

The Raisina Young Fellows Programme is not just a professional development initiative—it is a transformative experience that fosters global awareness, critical policy insight, and leadership growth. Fellows return home empowered to drive dialogue and policy innovation in their home countries and beyond.

Participation in this program reinforces PCNS’s broader mission to build leadership capacity throughout the Global South and to bridge policy communities across borders. Through initiatives like this, PCNS continues to play a key role in cultivating a new generation of globally minded changemakers.

Application Process

Interested applicants should submit their materials through the Policy Center for the New South website. The selection process will identify three outstanding members of the PCNS youth community who reflect the organization’s values of excellence, integrity, and international engagement.

This initiative represents a unique chance for aspiring policy leaders to contribute to high-level debates, exchange knowledge with top global experts, and enhance their ability to shape an inclusive and cooperative international future.
